Rachel Coppage
Originally from the UK, art psychotherapist with substantial interest in social justice and Deafhood identity formation, committed to all deaf children’s language acquisition and access to NZSL, and great concern for Deaf community wellbeing across all facets of everyday life. Nurturing the creative potential and promoting the synergy of art and health is the forefront of my wide-ranging roles in psychological therapies, Deaf studies, Deaf education and visual arts.
Amanda Everitt
Born and bred in New Zealand, multilingual and multicultural, and a graduate of the University of Auckland Law School. Has worked across, and is working within many areas including Deaf Youth, Justice, Sign Language teaching, E-Learning, the Media and Deaf Education.
Catherine Greenwood
After growing up in Whangarei, Catherine graduated from AUT University with a BA in English Studies. She has since then worked in a variety of roles within the Deaf community, including with Deaf youth, Deaf tertiary students, interpreter students, and the Deaf community. Catherine also has been on several committees and boards. Nowadays, she works primarily as a freelance translator.
Sonia Pivac
A native sign language user with a strong sense of social justice and a ‘can-do, must-do’ attitude and approach, Sonia has been instrumental in the development of numerous initiatives, community projects, strategic change and development within the Deaf community. Sonia is currently a post-graduate student at Victoria University of Wellington.
